We could not have done the day of without Jessica. Not only did she create an up-to-the-minute timeline (that was pretty spot-on all day and night), she was able to help us make the tough call to move the ceremony inside when the weather didn’t cooperate. The alternate plan was so well planned out that she was able to alert and coordinate all vendors, so that the change was done smoothly. The thing that helped me the most was the floor plan that Jessica created. The space was not a conventional wedding venue and to make it work took some creative planning. Jessica had the insight and knowledge of vendors who could create the look and feel we wanted with lighting and draping. And, since the dinner was upstairs and dancing downstairs, she had to think of a way to effectively get everyone downstairs and she did! Inviting everyone downstairs for cake cutting and then cake and coffee was served downstairs, so everyone came down to enjoy dancing and partying. She also gave us advice on when little extras were worth the cost or when they wouldn’t really pay off, helping us use our budget more wisely. Jessica kept saying ‘no worries’ and we had none with her in charge! And, what truly set Jessica apart was that she wasn’t just a well-organized planner. She was a calming, friendly presence all weekend. She treated all of us like friends and like she had known us for years, bantering with the wedding party and developing a rapport with everyone she dealt with so she wasn’t just “in charge,” but someone you actually wanted to be near, even when things were hectic.
We found Jessica, the owner of Lourdes & Lorraine, through a recommendation of a friend and were extremely glad we had her throughout the wedding planning journey. I’d heard from every single one of my married girlfriends that the money that they were most glad that they’d spent was on a wedding planner. As an incredibly meticulous person with experience in event planning, I knew I didn’t need a full-blown wedding planner, but I wanted something a bit more than just the day-of version, so Jessica helped create an in-between role for us.She was there for calls, tips, emails, a sounding board and recommendations throughout the entire wedding planning process. Starting a couple months before the wedding we had bi-weekly calls, and then the month of the wedding we had calls every week. On the day of the wedding, I can’t tell you how glorious it was to have her and her assistant there. I honestly didn’t have to worry about a single logistical or planning item (being able to concentrate on only getting glammed up for the big day was HUGE). They managed communication with the bajillion vendors we were working with, ensured we were running on schedule, handled all the cash/tip exchanges and oversaw all the little behind the scenes items that you don’t realize have to go on to have a wedding go off without a hitch. Since we didn’t have a decorator, she even assembled all the centerpieces for us, and when we ran out of white wine and bourbon, they made the trek to the corner store to pick up more. This was all on an absolutely insane Chicago evening... New Years Eve. We would without a doubt recommend her to any couple that want to ensure that the planning and day-of wedding execution goes smoothly!
Unequivocally, I can say besides marrying my wife, the best decision made during the wedding process was choosing Lourdes & Lorraine as our wedding planner. Jess and team were professional, hard-working, a trust confident throughout the process, and by the end a valued friend. Her judgment and tact in decisions and situations large and small were impeccable.
From the moment that Jessica agreed to be an integral part of my wedding day, I was confident everything would be amazing. Lourdes & Lorraine exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. I was incredibly stubborn and decided to plan everything myself, but I knew that if I sent Jessica an email she would respond quickly, and she did (even while planning her own wedding) with great guidance and advice. When the weekend finally rolled around, Jessica was prepared with timelines and schedules, executed a quick but thorough rehearsal, was the first to arrive at the ceremony location and meet the flowers, and happily offered to help us last minute by setting up (morning of) the centerpieces and the decorations for the reception. Not only had she sat down and helped us plan our ceremony, but also she executed it in a beautiful and unforgettable way. As a Reverend, I could not have asked for more. Her words were genuine, her smile was bright and ever present, and the way she put our ideas together and spoke the words not only brought tears to my eyes, but made me so happy I chose her. After the ceremony she continued to be the conspicuous coordinator. In my eyes everything went perfectly, there were no issues whatsoever, but I attribute that to everyone knowing that Jessica was the go-to person that day. There is no way that my day would have been so effortless and easy for me or my family without Jessica/Lourdes & Lorraine. Everything was met with her detail-orientated eye and her organized/planned/coordinated go-to attitude. If I were to do my wedding day all over again, I would immediately contact Jessica and use her wedding ideas, expertise and coordination even more. Jessica of Lourdes & Lorraine is an amazing lady who makes you her priority and devotes her attention to making sure all you have to do on your day is show up, say ‘I do’ and enjoy yourself.
